When Tom Hanks becomes a twelve year old trapped in his man-sized body, the legend of Zoltar captured a generation. Given the wish that all children have dreamed about, Hanks’ character Josh wakes up in a grown up body. Now he has all the power of doing as he decides, without asking permission of anybody. What does he want to do?

Josh seems to realize soon that there must be important parts of being a kid, because he does not understand the world around him. Grownups do not have the same motivations as he does. The pursuit becomes of the Zoltar machine, in an effort to put life back the way it was. Along the way Josh stumbles into a toy corporation where he creates much of the magic of the film.
